I have a question. I rescued a male budgie last year. It showed up in my yard on the hottest day of the summer in Arizona. He has been with me a year and he has always been a happy little guy playing with toys chirping all day. Loves music and he even was interacting with my rescue pigeon that live inside. I bought him a huge cage where he can fly around and such He is fed the best diet by Higgins. He is not sick. He just stopped playing with toys, he stopped chirping and making his normal noises. He doesn’t have his wings clipped so it is kind of hard to take him out of his cage. This started a week ago. I was cleaning his cage like I normally do and he got on my finger. That was only the second time he has done that. I have tried to encourage him to do so and have been working with him since. I talk to him and interact with him all day long. I am home everyday. Is there anything that i can do to get him to start playing and singing again? Oh yeah, he seems to sleep alot more now. His feathers are not all puffed up, he is never in the bottom of his cage and there is no vomiting etc. He is eating and drinking normally. Any advice would be much appreciated. It is just kind of weird that all of a sudden his behavior has changed. I am tempted to go buy another parakeet but I am afraid they may not get along then what?
Thanks
Cindy

S he stands up on her legs erect and seems to be the boss. She doesn’t let the other perch on the favored spots and pecks at the other chasing her from favorite vegies. The dominated one has become quiet and stays away from the other at night roost time. SHould I separate them?

My live-in landlady brought in a budgie & cockatiel that her ex recently discovered he was allergic to, a couple of days ago. The cocaktiel {Cosmo} is getting a bit louder as he gets used to the new place, but the budgie {Snowflake} still seems to be getting used to us. Is there anything we can do to help, or should we just let her be for now?

I have had it for three months and it won’t come to me or let me touch it. It just sits in the cage and the first budgie kind of bosses it around. She won’t let it play with any of the toys or even eat sometimes but they don’t want to be separated when I have separated them they call out for each other. What should I do?

Do you think Pumpkins is just tired, I cover him up at about 11pm till 8.30am
Thank you Debbie
