He had an injured leg in May which he appeared to recover from. However, during the last week he became unbalanced again. He was eating and preening as usual so I thought he would recover again. He woke me up 2.30a.m. yesterday morning scratching about at the bottom of his cage. The rest of the morning he slept most of the time. At lunchtime i found him splayed out at the bottom of his cage, a few minutes later he passed away. I am know feeling guilty i couldve done more for him but he appeared fine until very recently. I am heartbroken.

My budgie is over twelve years old and could be sixteen. He has gone quiet and is eating from his cage floor. I’ve moved his water nearer. Its so sad he was my late mums and it is a connection with her. He gets stressed if we move him or try to handle him. ( He came from a family who didn’t finger tame him). I think its best to keep him warm and chat to him. Taking him to a vet would probably cause him stress.

He’s the only one out of 3. I took him yo the vet. They gVe him IV Fluids and IV antibiotics. They don’t know what he has. Pretty fraustrating. They said they would watch him. But really nothing more they could do. He’s still vomiting. He tried to drink a little. Then went to stand on the stick. He then decided to go to the bottom of the cage.

Is he dying? Or can birds get over acute vomiting?

And how can I find out of it is some type of parasite?we clean the cage regularly it is very clean always wiping down an 1 week I do the bottom I’m wondering could it be the fruit we fees the they love it but after a long day we see little flies(like friutflies) we remove the fruit every night and wipe but thinking flies could likely cause some kind of illness we as of today have taken awY their fruit until we find the issue..HELP what can we give her in meantime I help her? Can budgies just get sick And get better? Thanks
