For larger birds, perhaps I could suggest your readers seek out walk-in acrylic pellet and water containers which hook on the side of the cage and confine discarded food and splashes. Big enough to take baths too. Quite expensive but long-lasting and well worth the outlay.

Also, I keep old bed sheets to clip around the back of the cage which give my Grey the closed-in security she likes and cut down on draughts in cold weather.
