The salivary glands in parrots is located around the base of the tongue, as well as in the soft palate in the roof of the mouth, near the back.  The tongue that we can see is typically dry.  If you find that the tongue is wet, there may be a medical reason for it, such as an irritation or inflammation in the mouth.
