We own a male and a female cocktail. They have started screeching yesterday and they won’t stop. I read the text above I couldn’t figure out what their problem is. Is it possible that they need a nest to have babies? Could it be their screeching reason?

Thanks very much for writing this sensitive informative and interesting article. I read this and immediately sent this to my daughter who was going through a frustrating time with one of her male Cockatiels. She was under the impression this might be due to hormonal changes too. At least in her several years of caring for at least 7-8 of these sweet birds, it’s been a common behavior at this time. I wondered if there was some nutritional needs that could affect them during their reproductive seasons? At any rate your article helped me feel better about her bird and although I don’t live with them I am extremely fond of her babies.
