I appreciate this article, however it would be also good to note that some dark leafy greens are only good in small doses.
Lettuce has small amount of nutrient, but bc birds are so sensitive, and budgies have lower calcium needs at least, high nutrients and phyto compounds are not always good either. Spinach is not good for every day, kale is great but has a lot of calcium, but also may have compounds that slow calcium absorption . It’s best to ask around and do some research, bc too much calcium can cause premature death in budgies.
A cockatiel owner had her bird due from goiter from eating broccoli everyday. Certain herbs have intensity of compounds that may be good only in moderation. I’m still researching and asking reputable breeders about this. Romaine seems harmless but I would do further research on all these greens personally. This article is a little simplistic but still Wonderful and thoughtful article, thanks

I have two budgies both male 4 and 1years old.
I have tried every fruit and veg possible they have one nibble and that’s it. Also I can not get them to play with any toys. I have sat on the floor with them playing but nothing. Have I got two rare birds 😂😂

I appreciate all the information posted for us bird lovers. I do have a concern about my lineateed Parakeet. Just the other day he was eating his sprouts and froze up like a statue. I had never seen that before. He was like that for while. I picked him up and changed his environment. But after that he’s been very quiet not like himself.
Would you know why he acted like that? Please i am very concern and would appreciate your observations. Thank you!
