Yellow-billed or Musschenbroek’s Lorikeet

The Yellow-billed Lorikeet (Neopsittacus musschenbroekii) is endemic to Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. This bird species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montanes. It is locally a fairly common high-altitude species; however, due to habitat destruction their numbers are going down, and this species is, therefore, considered endangered in its natural habitat (CITES II).
